Education
David enrolled in Lesley University's Expressive Therapy Program in 2001. David graduated with a Master's in Expressive Therapy and a specialization in Mental Health Counseling.
David did his undergraduate work at Bridgewater State University; where he majored in both Psychology and Theater Arts.
Professional
David has been working with children and young adults for over 20 years in both day programs, outpatient and residential settings. He has worked with a large variety of clients, while accumulating a wide skill set and knowledge of the developmental process. David has been doing outpatient individual therapy for 6 years and is now in private practice in Newton. His office is in Newton Highlands.
Specializations
David specializes in using drumming, singing and enactment to address concerns with depression, self-regulation issues and trauma related issues. David is a leader in the integration of technology into the therapeutic process as well as being versed in multimedia software. David has developed unique group therapy interventions that can be adapted for a wide range of ages and needs.
The Arts
After finishing his undergraduate degree, David went on to act and help produce local theater while working as a photographer on the side. David had taught himself to play guitar, bass, and drums. This led to him performing in a local band for several years. David is now most excited about combining all modalities in the making of short films, as well as integrating the arts into the therapeutic process.
